We have waited a long time for this, but Springtime weather is officially back here in Western New York.

Coming off a week where we saw the temperatures drop into the 30s with frost warnings for the area, it looks like Mother Nature got the memo that we are actually in the month of May.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo is calling for a warm-up for Western New York this week and beyond.

This week we are looking at mostly sunny skies for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with highs in the mid-60s.

The positive news continues for the weekend. More sunshine is on tap and the highs could reach the 70s.

It is not all good news. As we kick off next week, it will be warm but rain showers are expected for Monday and Tuesday.

According to US Climate Date on average the temperatures high here in Western New York are around 67 degrees in the month of May with lows near 47. The area gets just over 3.4 inches of rain.

So now that the weather is going to warm up here in Western New York. What are your plans? There are plenty of things to do with the numerous hiking trails, golf courses, and walking and biking paths in Western New York.

Of course, as you head out to the great outdoors, just remember it is still Springtime and that means lots of pollen in the air. Just make sure you have some allergy medicine handy if you plan to head to the park or outside for a picnic.
