There is an early spring warning from New York State for residents in a certain area about bears.

The cold weather is back. Actually, the cold weather never really leaves in the spring. We seem to get a few really warm days that interrupt the cold air before we get back to reality. The daily average temperature is typically in the 40 degree range this time of year.

Regardless of the temperature, there are some things that just have to happen and, unlike the spring weather, Mother Nature won't be interrupted.

There is a new warning this week about bears that will be on the move in some portions of New York State.

The police in the East Greenbush area of New York State are urging people to be vigilant and keep their yards unattractive to bears.

As for the rest of the state, there is no doubt that many bears will be spotted as they browse for an easy snack. It might be a good idea to put the bird feeder away, keep lids on trash cans and make sure that there is no access to food of any kind.

The summer will be here before we know it and bears will be back in their normal routine.

Last year, there were dozens of bears that were seen on trail camera footage from all over the state. There were also many bears that were killed during the hunting season in New York. It is clear that the bear population is still thriving and it is a good idea to pay attention for them in your area.
