The controversial decision to give free college education to students starting Fall 2017 was official Sunday night. Here is exactly what you have to do in order to receive the 'scholarship'.

New York State WILL COVER the entire $6,470 tuition per semester at every New York State college or 4-year university. In order to be eligible you must:

• Parents must make less than
  $100,000 a year in 2017
  $110,000 a year in 2018
  $125,000 a year in 2019
• Must be full-time student, minimum 30 credit hours a year.
• You must live in New York State for four years after you graduate from a 4-year college.
• If you want to go to a private college in the State, New York will only give you 3,000 if you meet the requirements above.
