The Buffalo Bills have been bit by the injury bug this season and even dating back to the end of the 2021 season, losing cornerback Tre'Davious White to a torn ACL on Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints.

The Bills have battled through other key injuries but are still 4-1 and tied atop the AFC standings, with their only loss coming in a game against the Dolphins in Miami...where the Bills outgained the by 280 yards and had many starters out.

Now, the Bills have finally welcomed back their number one cornerback.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced on Wednesday that Tre'Davious White will return to practice for the first time this year.

The Bills will have 21 days to activate White to the 53-man roster now, which would be November 1st. If they do not, he would be put on injured reserve.

White won't play on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, but considering the Bills have a bye week next Sunday (October 23rd), there's reasonable optimism from fans and analysts that White should be ready to play against the Green Bay Packers on October 30th, which is Sunday Night Football.

White's recovery may have been slower than some originally expected, but the recover has been over 10 months, which is about normal for ACL reconstruction surgery.

Getting Tre back is critical. Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier can soon place him on the opposing team's number one receiver and he's excellent at playing that zone coverage in this system.

The Bills also won't have Micah Hyde back this season, so getting White back in the lineup is a huge addition for a defense who is already playing at such a high level.

More good news is that wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie cleared concussion protocol, so he will play Sunday at the Kansas City Chiefs, which is big against a defense that is blitz-happy. McKenzie will likely be a safety blanket for Josh Allen.
