Noooo.

It's the end of an era.

The Verizon Ringback tones that you have come to love are going away forever later this year. Verizon had sent out a text message to many subscribers of the ringback tone announcing that on October 31, 2020 they will officially be gone.

The popular subscription would cost you a couple of bucks and would would be able to pick a song that would play back to your callers. So, you wouldn't hear it when your phone rang, but whoever would be calling you can. (Think of it as the music you hear when you are on hold with the doctor's office). It was a popular trend that was dying out fast. If someone's ringback tone subscription was up, you may only hear classical music because their payments had expired.

What happens if you are signed up for one now and consistently paying?

The text message from Verizon read: "Effective October 31, 2020, Verizon will be discontinuing Ringback Tones and Playlists. Your existing subscription(s) and any Ring Tones you purchased from the Media Store will be automatically removed from all lines on your account, and you will no longer be charged a subscription fee for this service."

So, don't worry you don't have to do anything at all, it will be removed by the end of October.

RIP Ringbacks. It is the end of an era.
