There was a spectacular view of the full lunar blood moon eclipse over Western New York State on Friday morning.

The warm weather is making a brief appearance this week and the spring will be here in the next couple of days. There are some amazing things that are about to happen across New York State!

But it was a rare opportunity to see a lunar eclipse in March that had many people staying up late, or waking up early, and the skies were perfect for it!

Like most mornings, I was up early on Friday and was fortunate to catch the lunar eclipse on my ride to work and had a good perspective of it in dowtown Buffalo, New York.

The forecast was calling for temperatures to get close to 70 degrees by Friday afternoon and although it may not last for long, the spring weather has felt great after the long and cold winter we have had.

Seeing the moon over the historic buildings in Buffalo was pretty neat. I remember watching the solar eclipse this past summer with the kids in our backyard and while the lunar eclipse may not have been as thrilling as that moment, it was a unique experience to witness it in the quiet darkness in the Queen City!
