This is an update according to a few Snowmobile clubs in the Western New York area that have received a large amount of snow on their trails.

As of Thursday afternoon, the snow was still falling and the winds where howling across Western New York. The forecast is calling for rain and warmer temps to arrive this weekend.

But those who own a snowmobile in New York State are hoping that the snow will stick around for at few weeks as the season will start soon.

However, the trails are not open yet.

According to a post on the Western New York Snowmobile Club of Boston Facebook page:

"Good afternoon members of the Western New York snowmobile club of Boston: just a strong reminder trails are not open! Please do not be riding our trails. You will endanger us losing trails if they are ridden on before January.
John Baronich
President

Until the clubs officially open the trails, they remain closed. The opening day will happen after the deer season here in Western New York.
