White Christmas Happening This Year In Western New York?
The weather in Buffalo is really strange for this time of year. While many people imagine it being like the inside of a snowglobe for Christmas every year, we can see just about anything here. So will we see snow this year on Christmas?
The weather could be just about anything on Christmas in Western New York
When I think back to some of the Christmases we've seen in Western New York since I was a kid, we have literally seen just about everything. I've had Christmases where we've gotten snowed in and weren't able to go and visit anyone on Christmas Day. We've had some where the weather started out fine, but then by the end of the day had gotten so bad that we were wondering if our guests would be sleeping over at our house that night. Then we've had days where I was able to bring out the grill and cook outside without even wearing a coat because it was so warm. We've seen it all!
This year, it looks like rain for Christmas in Western New York
Unfortunately, if you're a big fan of the snowy days that are the inspiration of Christmas songs for ages, we probably won't be seeing that this year in Western New York. While there is snow in the forecast early this week, by midweek it appears as though it will turn over to mostly rain.
The National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of snow overnight on Christmas Eve and temperatures in the upper 20's. So there's a chance we could get a dusting, but it looks like it won't stick around. Christmas Day looks like clouds and warmer temperatures with highs around 43. Then they're calling for rain for the rest of the week through Saturday.
