Carrie Underwood has a few song you might say are defining hits. That list has to include her 2012 single, "Blown Away."

Released in July of 2012, the song would top both the Mediabase country and Billboard Country Airplay charts the third week of October in 2012. The song stayed there for two weeks.

The song also reached the top 40 at pop radio, along with reaching the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also one of Carrie's best-selling singles, being certified three-times platinum; tying "Jesus, Take the Wheel." The only song that sold more was "Before He Cheats."

Written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins, the song was the second single off Carrie's album of the same name, which produced two more Mediabase number one hits ("Two Black Cadillacs", "See You Again").

Kear and Tompkins also wrote "Before He Cheats" for Carrie, so you can use that fun fact next time you're at a party!

"Blown Away" might be my favorite Carrie Underwood song. It has such a unique but dark subject with music and a melody that gets you invested.
