Eli Young Band have literally seen their career catapult onto center stage in the past few months. After their single ‘Crazy Girl’ became their first No.1 hit, the four-man country outfit snagged an ACM Award for Song of the Year with the same smash hit, making an underdog story to be remembered. But even in the face of so many great things at once, the guys are not about to forget who it was that helped them get to this point.
As a touring country artist, Jake Owen has long known that he has a steady base of fans interested in his music. But the ‘Alone With You’ singer didn’t fully comprehend just how interested those fans would be in every detail of his private life, including his proposal, engagement and the engagement ring he gave to fiancee Lacey Buchanan.
Tyson Zimmer, a 7-year-old boy in Nebraska who is dying of brain cancer, is a huge Jason Aldean fan. The little boy with the sweet smile told Nebraska’s KOLN-TV, “I sing ‘Big Green Tractor’ because that’s my favorite.” As family and friends have watched Zimmer battle the horrible disease, they rallied around him, joining in a Twitter campaign to request that Aldean send the young boy a message.
Zac Brown Band have been crazy busy this year, as they’ve taken the stages of arenas across the country and awards shows alike. Currently up for Top Country Artist at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, ZBB are also in the running for Group Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards. Plus, CMTT is reporting that they have a source that knows when the band’s next album is supposedly going to hit shelves.
CMT unrolled the red carpet for their 2012 Music Awards nominations this morning, and it looks like Carrie Underwood is set to have quite the year, with a stunning total of five nominations. While Underwood is in the lead, tons of other country stars netted multiple nominations this year. Miranda Lambert is packing four — two for her solo work and two with first-time nominees Pistol Annies.
Alan Jackson has been the owner of some impressive real estate in his day. From his $28 million Williamson County estate — which he and his wife sold earlier this year to move to a gated community — to his $15 million, $19,000 Juniper Island, Florida estate — which is still on the market — Jackson and his wife seem to be simplifying as their daughters get older. And now, adding to the list of properties they have decided to sell this year, the Jacksons are putting their equally mind-boggling lakeside retreat on the market for $4,995,000.
Blake Shelton may not be a fan of all the background dancers and glitzy staging he sees on ‘The Voice‘ — and he’s taken a little flack for his critiques from fellow judges who insinuate that he just doesn’t appreciate the art of staging. But that doesn’t mean the country king can’t appreciate things outside his own genre. If there’s one pop craze to which Shelton unabashedly subscribes, it’s Justin Bieber.
The focus of the Sugarland lawsuit concerning the August stage collapse at the duo’s Indiana State Fair show is now turned away from the band and instead pointed at their tour manager, Hellen Rollens — the very woman credited with saving the lives of every band member that tragic day.
Lady Antebellum are about to jump into the summer leg of their Own the Night World Tour, and though the second half of the tour won’t officially kick off until May 3 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, the trio has already sold more than 750,000 tickets for the tour as a whole. This may come as no surprise to fans who have watched Lady A shoot quickly to the top, but Dave Haywood says it’s continually exciting for him and his bandmates.
Her father may be a football legend, but recording artist Rachel Bradshaw did inherit musical genes from Terry Bradshaw. The younger Bradshaw, who came to Nashville from her native Texas to study music at Belmont, has signed a record deal with Bigger Picture Group. In an interview with the Associated Press, Rachel explained that this has always been her goal ever since she came to Belmont as a freshman.
In 2000, young singer Billy Gilman exploded onto the music scene as a 12-year-old with a killer voice and the musical chops to take him places. He released a debut record called ‘One Voice,’ sold more than 2 million copies and then had to take a step back from the industry when puberty put a crimp in his vocal style. Now, almost 12 years later, Gilman has found his voice again, and he’s choosing to use it for the sake of others.
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw have been seeing a good bit of each other lately, as the two polish their boots in preparation for their upcoming Brothers of the Sun Tour, which kicks off June 2 in Tampa, Fla. Plus, the pair of country studs hit the ACM stage this past weekend (Sunday, April 1) to perform their new joint single ‘Feel Like a Rock Star.’ And then today (April 4), the two took their rocking single to the stage of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’
