It's almost time to get your green on and come downtown for one of the biggest celebrations of the year in Buffalo. On Saint Patrick’s Day weekend (March 16-17), the entire city will be feeling the luck of the Irish this year. To celebrate the rich Irish heritage of Buffalo, thousands will come out and celebrate with two parades, one on Delaware Avenue and another in the Old First Ward.
Buffalo isn't exactly short on dishes and delicacies that make out-of-towners scratch their heads. I'm pretty sure I've never gotten through a conversation with a friend living in some other corner of the country without hearing "Beef on what?" or "What's a loganberry?" So if you're a Buffalonian, there's about a 600 percent chance you've had to explain a butter lamb before.
Easter is great because it's the first sign of spring, and it's another excuse to eat chocolate. Plus, who doesn't love decorating eggs? There's also a ton of cheap (and free) Easter events happening in Buffalo within the next few weeks -- we even found an adult Easter Egg Hunt at a winery. Yes, please!
Bowling: A pastime that dates back to Ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire, way before anyone even fathomed swinging at a baseball. And in the frigid desolation of Buffalo winter, bowling seems more logical than putting on a baseball mitt. You can find many bowling alleys in Buffalo, and we've done our best to list them all here for you!
The Buffalo snow is starting to melt, temperatures are warming up, and spring is almost here -- which means Easter is almost here! To celebrate, the Easter bunny will be coming to town. Here's where you can find him.
It’s 2013, and none of us were killed off by the Mayan Apocalypse (fingers crossed). But we’re not through the woods yet – there’s something far more threatening than a potential doomsday looming upon us: the flu.
The words "American" and "freedom" are synonymous with each other. If the freedoms we possess were gone, we would, in essence, not be Americans. Therefore, it is extremely important to observe and celebrate the freedoms we have and honor those who fought to gain and retain those freedoms.
Veterans Day is on Sunday, November 11, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate this holiday besides just having off of work the next day. Here are some events that are going on in Buffalo this year for Veterans Day.
