Not too many people gave the Buffalo Bills much of a chance in their season opener in Chicago, myself included.  But boy the Bills came up with an impressive win in overtime 23-20.

The opening minutes appeared to confirm every Bills fan's worst expectations - a 3 downs and out for the offense, then the defense gave up an easy touchdown drive and the Bears were out in front 7-0.  But the Bills took over and scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17-7 lead into halftime.

A different story after the break with the Bears dominating the 3rd quarter to tie it up.  After the two teams exchanged a pair of field goals to force overtime, it was the Bills driving for the winning field goal on the strength of a 38 yard run by Fred Jackson to the Chicago one-yard line to set up the winning field goal.

A good game for E J Manuel; he completed 16 of 22 passes for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception.   The Bills running game produced 193 yards against the Bears defense.

With the Miami Dolphins scoring 23 unanswered points to beat the New England Patriots 33-20, next week's home opener at Wilson Stadium appears to be a big early-season divisional match-up.
