The Buffalo Sabres closed out their western Canada road trip with a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.  Nick Baptiste playing in just his second NHL game was credited with his first NHL goal after the puck was kicked into the net by a Vancouver defenseman.

The Sabres had some great chances and ended up outshooting the Canucks 26-20, but couldn't find the back of the net.  Robin Lehner playing in his fourth straight game stopped 18 of 20 Canucks shots.

After starting the trip with an impressive 6-2 win in Edmonton, the Sabres lost a disappointing 4-3 game in overtime to the Calgary Flames, then the loss to the Canucks gives the Sabres three of a possible six points on the trip.

The Sabres play one more game on the road in Philadelphia Tuesday before returning home next Thursday against the Minnesota Wild.
