He's just three years old, but the Grand Island, Nebraska school district wants this little deaf boy to change the way he signs his name.  The deaf use shortcuts to sign their names.  The school district says the way Hunter Spanjer signs his name looks too much like a gun and they want him to fingerspell it instead.

The school district has a policy against bringing to school anything resembling a weapon and in this case they say his hands look like weapons.  Is this about as ridiculous as you can get?  It's the way he's signed his name since he learned sign language. 

Once in a while you have to overlook the way rules and laws are written word for word and use common sense.  This is one of those cases.
