A would-be robber is feeling the heat after the owner of a deli fought back.

When the owner of Cos's Corner Deli in Linden, N.J. was held up by an armed man on Monday, he threw 350-degree hot cooking oil at him – and got him before the robber ran off.

He'd never been robbed before, but the owner says he often thought about what he’d do if he was. And that’s what he thought he’d do. He "never thought it would really happen," but he says he decided to fight back because the robber was trying to take his "hard-earned money and it hurts when someone tries to take" his earnings.

Police still haven’t found the punk.
