The UAW hosts Faceoff For Freedom - a Charity Hockey Game to Benefit WNYHeroes; WNY’s top local Veterans non-profit organization.

Harbor Center, Buffalo, NY (April 23, 2016) – UAW hockey team (the B-24’s) is playing a charity hockey game versus NY Military All-Stars. Funds raised will go to WNYheroes, a local nonprofit for veterans. Puck drop is 8:00 pm, $10 a ticket for general admission, kids 5 and under are free. There will be different raffles with numerous signed sports paraphernalia, 50/50, and chuck a puck - puck toss. Players from the USA Sled hockey team will be there to sign autographs. Sabretooth will also we there to pump up the crowd! WNYHeroes is a nonprofit that helps support veterans in the 8 counties of WNY with their basic needs. They assist with paying a veteran’s mortgage, rent, and/or utilities to help get them back on their feet. WNYHeroes also has a service dog program and programs for children of veterans. This is the inaugural year for this event in which the organizers hope to raise close to $10,000.
