Fall Activites for the Weekend!

So I know summer is coming to an end and really Fall is knocking on the door but that doesn’t mean we should start packing up for Winter!  Definitely not!  This weekend has so many fun family events happening around town that you must check out!

First of all if you have a love for Peaches or not you’ll need to check out the Niagara County Peach Festival this weekend.  The festival takes place in the Village of Lewiston in Academy Park Village and let me tell you they have EVERYTHING peaches.  I’m not just talking about some peach desserts either!  These people have pulled out all the stops for the peach lover in you.  There is going to be the Peach Queen Competition, a Peach Taste Baking contest, peach fuzz, and even Peach Blossom Contests!  Make sure while you are there though you get a bite of their delicious Peach Shortcake.  Speaking from someone who ate the whole thing it was incredible!  Along with that you’ll get the chance to enjoy a huge midway, a cheerleading competition, a 5K run, and even the chance to taste other food from all over the world.  There will also be some great live entertainment including the return of Elvis!  So this weekend head up to Lewiston with a huge appetite and an empty stomach for the Niagara County Peach Festival!

Also since it’s Grandparents weekend make sure you do something extra special for them!  Just think about all those extra desserts they slipped you when you were a kid!  Trust me they deserve to something really fun this weekend just for that!  Tomorrow at the Buffalo Zoo is their Grandparents Day!  From 10am to 4pm everyone is welcomed to bring their Grandparents to the Zoo for a fun day with the animals.  You don’t even have to spend a dime on them to get in!  Grandparents are admitted free into the Zoo with a paid child’s admission.  Spend the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa exploring the rainforest falls or the reptile house.  While you’re there, make sure you swing by the Zoo’s Delta Sonic Heritage Farm exhibit.  The Zoo has set up some fun activities for you to enjoy there!  All activities for Grandparents Day at the Zoo are free with Zoo Admission.   Make Grandparents weekend extra special with a trip to the Buffalo Zoo today!

If you’re older and the zoo sounds a little too young for you then how about an adult activity this weekend.  Happening today and tomorrow at the Niagara Wine Trail USA is their Harvest Festival!  Head out and celebrate the season with wine, some great food pairing, and even autumn activities!  This event is always one of my favorites on the wine trail.  It’s starting to sweater weather, the leaves are starting to just being to change, and a great glass a wine just completes the weekend.   The best part is you can make a whole weekend of it!  When you buy your tickets to this event they are good for today and tomorrow.  The tickets also include wine tasting at each winery, one food sampling at each winery, and you’ll even get a commemorative wine glass from your starting winery.  Get out of the house and start getting excited about Fall with the Harvest Festival this weekend at the Niagara Wine Trail USA!
