Hunter Hayes is doing what some performers would call crazy -- he is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most shows played in 24 hours.

Currently, the band The Flaming Lips holds the record with eight. Hayes is going for 10 shows in 10 cities.

You may ask why he would want to break this record. Well, there is a really good reason – Hunter is fighting hunger, and this 10 shows/10 cities in 24 hours tour is going to help raise awareness and money for the Child Hunger Ends Here program.

In an interview with the New York Times, Hayes says

"I was astonished by the statistics" from Feeding America that more than one in five American children "isn’t sure where their next meal is coming from. Awareness is key with something like this, but just as important is that everyone can pitch in to make this story a better story -- and how easy it is for us to help."

My friend Katie, who works with Hunter, sent me the photo above, and as you can see, the excitement for this speed/mini-tour is huge!
