[Youtube][/caption]It was quite a moment when Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly received a standing ovation before announcing the Buffalo Bills first pick in this year's NFL draft.  There were a number of Bills fans in the crowd in Chicago, but after what Kelly has been through in the past few years his appearance transcends allegiances to any one particular team.  The fans showed their appreciation for Kelly not only for his football exploits but for his courage and determination in winning his battle against cancer.

After thanking the crowd, Kelly announced that the Bills had selected Ronald Darby, a cornerback out of Florida State - the 18th pick in the second round, the 50th overall pick.  Bills general manager Doug Whaley said they did what they said would do - Darby was the highest rated player on the board.  Cornerback is a position on the team they want to add to every year. Whaley described Darby as a physical player, with good size and blazing speed.

The Bills second pick, the 81st overall was John Miller, an offensive guard out of Louisville.  The Bills hope that Miller will fill a need in the middle of the line.  He's 6-foot-2, 303 pounds and has four years of starting experience in college.  He's described as a big, aggressive player with a strong punch and nasty demeanor.

The NFL draft continues on Saturday with Rounds 4-7 with the Bills holding four more picks.
