There’s a new leader in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. Jimmie Johnson started on the pole, but chased down Brad Keselowski for the lead with 14 laps left, then held off Kyle Busch on the final restart with five laps to go to win his 7th career race at Martinville Speedway.

Johnson’s fourth win of the season was good enough to move him into the lead for the title. He swaps positions with Brad Keselowski and with three races left he has a two point lead. Clint Bowyer stands third, 26 points back.

Following second-place Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer completed the Top Five.

Keselowski came in sixth, but after starting 32nd, he has to consider it a pretty good day.

But a bad day for Denny Hamlin. He had one of the strongest cars on the track until an electrical problem brought his car to a dead stop on the track. By the time they got it fixed he was 34 laps behind and it dropped him from third to fifth I the standings.

So it looks like a Johnson and Keselowski will battle it out over the next three races. Next up on the schedule is Texas Motor Speedway.
