Kelly Clarkson took the stage at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards Sunday night (March 29) to perform "Heartbeat," the lead single from her new album, Piece by Piece.

Clarkson looked and sounded great, presenting the song with her usual vocal power and precision with a multi-colored stage light presentation.

Though her latest album slants toward pop, Clarkson has deep ties to country music. She has worked with country artists on more than once occasion, including duets with Reba McEntireTrisha YearwoodMartina McBrideVince Gill and Jason Aldean. Last year she wed Brandon Blackstock, a Nashville talent manager who is also McEntire's stepson. Blackstock manages Blake Shelton. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter River Rose, in June of 2014.

Clarkson is now working on a full country album.

“I’ve actually been creating both albums, a country one and this one at the same time. I’ve been working on both projects simultaneously," she says. “I’m both people. I have everything on my iPad from country to R&B to pop to rock. I listen to classical as well. I had a pop record left on my contract, so we decided to put this one out first.”
