Kentucky Greg’s Hickory Pit Closes for Good
Wood-smoked, slowly cooked pulled pork, ribs, chicken and sausage at Kentucky Greg's Hickory Pit. It's been a local favorite for 21 years, but on Monday the Depew restaurant announced it's closing. The owners had been attempting sell it for the past year without luck, so the time had come to shut the doors.
Owners Greg and Pamela Englehardt say they're working on a way to reimburse anyone with outstanding gift cards. Details will appear on Kentucky Greg's Facebook page.
Kentucky Greg's catering service will continue and their Facebook post included the message that they will be exploring new ways to bring their products to the public. That could mean they intend to operate a food truck.
In a statement made to the Buffalo News Pamela Englehardt said "basically, we’re looking to downsize and have a little less stress.”
