For the 11th time this season the Buffalo Sabres failed to win back to back games.  After their big comeback win over Pittsburgh the night before the Sabres came up well short in a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.ack to back games.

The Sabres played a strong first period and led 2-1 until a late goal by the Leafs tied it heading into the first intermission.  Then just as they did five days before the Leafs took control in the second period with a pair of goals and from there the Sabres were playing catch up.  They never did.

If the Sabres could have made it 3-1 this would have been a different game.  They had their chances.  Sam Reinhart hit a post.  Jeff Skinner had a chance from the crease and was stopped.  They had a chance on the power play and couldn't break thru.

Jason Pominville and Connor Sheary scored the Buffalo goals.  For Sheary it was his third goal in two nights.

Linus Ullmark got the start in goal for the second night in a row but had several goals go in off pads and skates.  He stopped 28 shots.

The Sabres are at home to host Edmonton on Monday.
