According to WGRZ, authorities are warning people in the Canisius College community to be on the lookout for “bottle bombs” after a resident there came in contact with one.

He found the what looked like a normal plastic bottle in his front yard.  But when he picked it up, it exploded in his hand. The bottle bombs are made by filling plastic bottles with combustible elements and mixing them with a liquid.

Area residents are being asked to be aware of any suspicious items found on the street or lawn and to call Public Safety immediately at 716-888-3197.
