At the peak of spring break travel here in New York State, there are new reports that there will be an increase in at least one fee.

The spring weather has been more like winter here in New York State. For those who chose to stay home for the week off, the cold and snow and freezing rain have returned. The good news is that the weather looks decent for the solar eclipse on Monday.

For those who like to travel internationally, the cost to do so is about to get higher.

According to travelandleisure, "Starting Oct. 1, the application fee for Global Entry will increase to $120, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Currently the cost is $100".

There may be some good news for families as the Customs and Border Protection information says, "Once the rule goes into effect, applicants under the age of 18 will be exempt from the application fee when a parent or legal guardian is already a member of, or concurrently applying for NEXUS, SENTRI, or Global Entry".

There is an estimated 1 million people coming to the Western New York to witness the total, solar eclipse. Many of them will be crossing back and forth over the border.
