New York State Forest Officially the Oldest in World

Officials have recently found the oldest forest in the WORLD and it is in New York State.

Now, it was discovered in 2009 and while that doesn't seem like 'recent' to some people, compared to hold old it is, you are going to wonder how people never realized it was there.

The oldest forest in the world was found in an abandoned quarry near the town of Cairo in the Catskill Mountains.

Researchers discovered the planet's oldest forest in a New York quarry, dating back385 million years. While known to the team, it was the first proper investigation into the forest's ages. Fossilised roots provide a glimpse into an ancient forest covering 400 kilometres", according to WIONEWS.COM.
