The Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings are teams going in opposite directions.  The Red Wings have won 15 straight games on home ice while the Sabres have lost 9 straight on the road.  Those are both team records and there's no sign that's going to change anytime soon.

The Red Wings had an easy time putting away the Sabres in Detroit Monday night 5-nothing.  With two of their top defensemen, Robyn Regehr and Christian Ehroff out with injuries, the Sabres were defenseless against the high-powered Wings.  The defensive pair of Mike Weber and Jordan Leopold were on the ice for four of the five Detroit goals.  Ryan Miller gave up all five Detroit goals on just 14 shots and was pulled early in the second period after the fifth goal.  Jonas Enroth completed the game stopping all 12 shots he faced.

It doesn't get any easier for the Sabres.  Next stop on their 7-game road trip is Wednesday night against the Chicago Black Hawks.
