Flyers Beat Sabres in Overtime To Force Game 7

The Buffalo Sabres twice had two goal leads, 2-0 and 3-1 but couldn’t hold on.  The Philadelphia Flyers rallied back twice to tie the game then finally won it 5-5 in overtime on a goal by Ville Leino.

Rob Niedermeyer opened the scoring early in the first period, Thomas Vanek scored twice on the power play and after the Flyers came back to tie it, Nathan Gerbe put Buffalo in the lead again.
Scott Hartnell’s third period goal tied it 4-4 forcing overtime where the Flyers won it.
For the second time in two games the Sabres lost a key offensive player when Tim Connolly was rammed into the boards head- first by Mike Richards who received a two-minute penalty.
After the game goaltender Ryan Miller and coach Lindy Ruff called on the league to take a close look at that play suggesting that Richards should be suspended.
