As Spectre continues filming, we are treated today to another dispatch from the Bond 24 set. The last video blog focused on the snowy shoot on the top of the Austrian mountains and this new installment features new behind the scenes footage of Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), and Ben Whishaw (Q).

This new Spectre video blog spotlights director Sam Mendes, who had this to say about why he wanted to return after directing Skyfall:

The reasons I’m doing the second Bond movie are the reasons I would do any movie, really, which is all to do with the story. And in this movie, Spectre, what you have is a movie entirely driven by Bond. He is on a mission from the very beginning [...] It’s about whether or not to pursue the life he’s always pursued, whether he matters and is he going to continue or not. And you’re going to have to come to see the movie to find out whether he does.

Mendes needn't worry about people going to see the movie; Skyfall was the most successful film in the entire James Bond franchise, and there's no reason to think that Spectre wouldn't be even bigger.

In addition to the video blog, Empire also revealed some new photos of Dave Bautista's Mr. Hinx and Bond girl, Dr. Madeleine Swann, played by Lea Seydoux. But, Seydoux says she doesn't consider her a traditional Bond girl. "I don't consider myself a Bond girl," says Seydoux. “I'm not really the stereotyped Bond girl. I feel quite different [...] She's not a fighter, she's a doctor. She fights in another way.”

As for Hinx, Bautista explains why he took on the role:

When I came over to meet Sam [Mendes], I only asked two questions. I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, ‘Yes, he's a badass.’ I said, ‘Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?’ He said, ‘Very.’ That's what I like about Mr. Hinx. He's very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I'm not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humour. He definitely knows what a metaphor is.
