It's been a destination for many Buffalo-area country music fans over the years, but beginning this summer they'll be heading to a new location.  After 43 years, the New York State Fair's grandstand has been demolished in what Governor Cuomo described as in the "name of progress".

Over the past couple of years the venue has hosted country superstars like Eric Church, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.

The demolition is part of a $50-million renovation project for the state fairgrounds. State Fair concerts will be moved to the Lakeview Amphitheater on Onondaga Lake.  The site of the grandstand will be replaced by a recreational vehicle park.

A Tonawanda company, Total Wrecking and Environmental handled the demolition of the 17,500-capacity grandstand on Saturday afternoon.
