It was clear that Dan Carpenter struggled last year with the Buffalo Bills missing numerous extra points, but there was one person who wanted to come in and try and help. Former Buffalo Bill, Steve Christie says that Whaley was not "receptive to outsiders" when he offered his help, someone who has been in that stadium for 9 years and knows what it's like.

He took to Facebook to wish Carpenter well and also call out the Bills. The Buffalo Bills did respond on Tuesday afternoon:

Steve Christie is a valuable member of our alumni community and we appreciate all that he has done for this organization. He is the Bills all-time leading scorer and the top field goal kicker in team history. We appreciated his offer to assist Dan and that was communicated to him. But we all just felt it was in the best interests to have Dan continue his working relationship with the coaches."
