Detroit, much like Buffalo, has struggled as a city since the country has moved away from an industrial economy.  But they may just be on to something as a handful of companies who are based in Detroit are offering monetary incentives to some of their employees to live in the city.

A lot of great musicians have come from Michigan: Grand Funk Railroad, Bob Seger, Aretha Franklin, Glen Frey and of course, Kid Rock. Kid Rock recently had a birthday party in Detroit and had 45 thousand friends show up. Wish I could have been there for that...
