According to a report by WGRZ-TV, Channel 2, Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula intends to make a bid to buy the Buffalo Bills and keep the team in Buffalo. Three separate sources confirmed to Channel 2 that Pegula will attempt to buy the team. Buffalo Sabres spokesman Mike Gilbert simply said the team has nothing to report.

An interesting side story to this -- the oil and natural gas company owned by Pegula on Monday sold 75,000 acres of land in Ohio and West Virginia. American Energy Partners, the company that bought the land says the deal is worth $1.75 billion and will close within 60 days. Is that a coincidence or an attempt to have cash resources available when the time comes to bid on the Bills?

Pegula has a net worth of $3.3 billion.
