If you have been reading any of my blogs in the past six months, you know that my son and I are avid deer hunters. We have harvested close to 20 deer in the past five years, but being a true hunter is more than just taking a deer. We have a huge respect for the animals. We like to study deer in their habitat and learn as much as we can about them. One of our favorite springtime activities is to search for sheds, or antlers that have fallen off of deer. It's a fun way to pass the time in the woods. We have saved each one that we have found. To my son and me, these antlers are trophy's. We like to study each one because every antler you find is different from the next. Check out this picture of Tyler's recent find. We don't normally find entire deer skulls, so this find was particularly cool.
