One pro and con of living in New York State is our four seasons. On the plus side, we can look forward to the beautiful fall foliage on the way these next few months.

Unfortunately, after that, we’ll have winter storms to battle until spring comes around.

Thankfully, the weather here in New York is cooler now, so we can finally enjoy the remaining month of summer outside.

If you haven’t lived it up this summer to the fullest, why not take a quick mini-vacation while you still can? A new unique destination is opening this weekend in one of the most beautiful areas in New York State, and could be a great excuse to take one last summer getaway.

Why New York State’s Finger Lakes Are A Must-Visit Destination

If you haven’t been to one of New York State’s Finger Lakes, you’re missing out.

Because the Finger Lakes area is so massive (9,000 square miles - twice the size of New Jersey!), there are plenty of things to enjoy depending on how you want to spend your time.

The serene waterfronts, wineries, and scenery make it a top tourist destination for friends and couples looking to have a relaxing long weekend.

If you’re bringing the kids along, there’s a ton of stuff they’ll enjoy, like the Corning Museum of Glass. You could also rent a jet ski or hop on a boat for a fun ride on one of the eleven beautiful lakes.

As for places to stay, the Finger Lakes have no shortage. You could rent a beautiful house on Airbnb by the water, or stay in one of the many upscale hotels in the area like Mirbeau on Skaneateles or The Inn on Canandaigua Lake.

And for a one-of-a-kind place to crash in the Finger Lakes area, a new resort opening this weekend could be just what you’re looking for.
