For the second-straight week, a Western New York football player is featured in Gannett's top five national plays of the week.

Depew quarterback Cody Penner's 70-yard touchdown catch and run is a top five play this week.

Luckily, I'm out of high school, otherwise I wouldn't be so happy about this -- I'm from Lancaster! (Just kidding, Cody, I would have helped you out anyway!)

How cool would that be if Depew's own would win the 'USA Today National High School Play Of The Week'?!

Fast Fact: The Lancaster Redskins-Depew Wildcats rivalry is named one of the top rivalries in the country. The matchups began in 1919, with Lancaster leading the series 47-29-7. The series took an eight-year break in the 1930s when the series got so intense that fan safety was a concern.
