We were lucky to see him a couple years ago at our Taste Of Country concert when Wade Hayes was touring with Alabama lead singer Randy Owen.  He wasn't on the bill that year but we got him anyway.  He's known for his big hit "Old Enough To Know Better" and now he has Stage IV Colorectal Cancer.

It's known as Colon Cancer and it's something that Wade Hayes never thought could affect a guy in his early 40s.  It is the third leading cause of cancer death in both men and women, according to the American Cancer Society.

"You just don't expect a man in his young 40s, who was perfectly healthy in every other way, to get this kind of diagnosis," says Hayes' manager, Mike Robertson. "There was a part of me that was going, 'Surely this can't be happening.' "

We wish him the best of luck nonetheless and hope that he's writing songs and strumming that guitar sooner than later.
