I want to thank the people who designed the ratchet strap! It is one of those things that seems so simple yet is so important for those that need to tie down cargo.

I have also used the ratchet strap to pull down an old building, hold a tree up after a wind storm and even to hold won a tree stand in a tree.

But what do you do with the slack that is left behind? Too often people either let it flap in the air or tie it too tight that it knots up and you can't get the strap off when you need to.

My buddy Brad has this tip for those who are left with too much excess strap slack.
