It's a competition that is very stressful for its participants. There's a cash prize up for grabs of $40,000. The title is incredibly prestigious, and we've got an eigth grader representing Western New York. It's the Scripps National Spelling Bee!

According to WGRZ, his name is Santino Panzica, he goes to Immaculate Conception, and he's still in the running for the big prize.  He had to spell two words to get there, but he spelled them both perfectly.  His words were 'myoglobin' and 'prorogue' .

The competition will continue on Thursday morning in Washington, DC.
