There is a deadline that is looming here in New York State that officials say we are about to miss.

Each year, New York State lawmakers work to improve the way taxpayer money is used/spent. From roads, to programs and even parks, the money New York State collects from you is supposed to go towards making New York a better place to live, work and travel. However, there seems to be a delay this year figuring out how to make it all work.

New York State's Governor released a message this week indicating that this year's budget will be late, again.

According to reports, Governor Hochul says she and state lawmakers will not be able to reach a budget agreement ahead of the April 1st deadline.

The Governor posted, "While I believe a final agreement is within reach, I recognize many New Yorkers would like to spend the holiday weekend with family and loved ones. For that reason, I will be delivering a bill to the Legislature to temporarily extend the budget deadline until April 4th. Working together, I am confident we can deliver a budget that increases the housing supply, invests in schools and health care, and makes New York safer for all."
