There is big news for New York residents as Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that a massive amount of money will be distributed to qualifying households later this year. Millions of New Yorkers could receive direct payments, with most homeowners eligible for up to $600 and some households receiving as much as $1,500.

If you believe you qualify for the tax relief program, New York State has created a simple and convenient online application process. Eligible residents can check their status, apply if necessary, and even choose to receive their payment through direct deposit.

That means the money could be deposited directly into your checking account this fall.
