Sure, beer is great and so are other drinks at the end of a long day. But so is a delicious sweet treat like your favorite pie!

This and every Wednesday, there is a happy hour for pie lovers in the Southtowns!

There was a time when just about every local bar in the western New York and Buffalo area would be packed around 5, 6 or 7 o’clock in the evening. There would be drink specials such as $.25 drafts or dollar long necks that would draw crowds after the long workday. Various laws and culture have changed all of that even though you can still find good deals at many bars and restaurants after 5 o’clock.

These days, more people are turning to events that are more trendy and even more Family friendly in many cases. This pie happy hour is One of the more creative ideas that I have seen to draw a crowd in the afternoon in a long time.

What’s the best part about any meal? Of course, it’s the desserts! I remember thanksgivings when my mother would be starting to bake pies early in the week to get them ready for the family to enjoy Thursday afternoon for turkey day. Just the smell of a baked pie brings me back to my childhood and some great memories with the family. Hopefully this new happy hour will do the same? Looking forward to checking it out some Wednesday afternoon after a long day that calls for a sweet way to unwind.
