When you think of summertime in Western New York, one of the first places you imagine going to is the Beach Club at Mickey Rats.

The beach bar has been welcoming customers for years in Angola with drinks, food and yes, that amazing view looking out over Lake Erie.

However, you may have heard the news that this summer could be the last for Mickey Rats and while that's kind of true, it's not the official end for The Beach Club at Mickey Rats.

According to their Facebook page, The Beach Club at Mickey Rats will be holding a "farewell party" on Saturday, September 11th at their current location. Then, they will be moving into a new building for the spring of 2022!

I'm sure many more details are still to come (exact location and address), but it's a relief that Mickey Rats will not be going away after they leave the current building.

In case you missed it, Ellicott Development Co. who bought the property a few years ago, finalized a new $30 million deal for a redevelopment plan for the Lakeshore properties where Mickey Rats is.

25 condos and houses, along with a new restaurant will be at the location now and that means Mickey Rats will be moving into a new building and location next year.

It's such a great location, so I'm sure I speak for many people when I say that we will miss this location, but I'm excited for what the future holds for Mickey Rats.
