Amari Cooper Reacts To Trade For First Time In Buffalo
Amari Cooper was traded to the Bills on Tuesday. Wednesday he was already in Buffalo in front of reporters with his reaction and he seems excited for a new start.
Cooper seemed ready to get out of Cleveland
Things were not going well for Amari Cooper and the Cleveland Browns. Many had said that it was obvious he was done with that team and wanted out. Now that he's gotten his wish, it appears like he is excited for the opportunity. He even described it as feeling like a kid going to his first day of class at a new school.
He only knows a couple of his teammates and some coaches. He remembers his first meeting with Brandon Beane when Beane was with Carolina and he requested a meeting with Cooper. Now, he's on a winning team and he's set to play with one of the most popular quarterbacks in the league.
Cooper was not long winded in his answers. He was polite with the media but seemed as though he hadn't had a whole lot of time to process the trade quite yet.
How does Cooper feel about playing with Josh Allen?
He was asked today how he felt about playing with Allen and his response was exactly what you'd expect. "It's phenomenal every time I turn on the television and watch him play. He plays with a lot of grit. Just to be able to play with him and experience that in person, I think is going to be real cool." He said.
It's just football
He said it multiple times during the conference. He doesn't seem to be overthinking it. While he knows there will be some adjustment to coming to a new team after a season has already started he didn't want to overcomplicate it. He said, "I still have to learn the playbook but at the end of the day, it's just football. I just have to go out there, know your assignment, and play freely." Later he added that he feels like he's a pretty cerebral guy and that he was looking forward to just going out there, run routes, and get open.
That's all the Bills need from him. Do those things, then catch the ball, and this offense will get better almost immediately.
