Bills and Sabres Make an Important Statement On Social Media
It was a weekend that will stick with the Buffalo community forever. A gunman opened fire at a TOPS on Jefferson Ave. in the City of Buffalo on Saturday afternoon.
10 people lost their lives and three were wounded. 11 of the victims were African American, as law enforcement and investigators say this was a racially motivated attack.

The country was in mourning with the Buffalo community in the last 36 hours and both the Buffalo Bills and Sabres made statements on the day of the attack, which sent heartfelt messages to the victims family and friends.
The Bills and Sabres also made statements on social media on Sunday. Both teams changed their profile photos and posted the message of “Stop Hate. End Racism. Choose Love.”
Many Bills players have spoke out about the senseless tragedy, including Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who spoke on the attack during Micah Hyde’s charity softball game.
Allen said he was “sick to his stomach” after what happened and that he and the team will get together and figure out the best way they can all help the victims families and the community.
Hyde had very powerful words when talking about what happened, saying “there’s no room for hate in this world.”
