We are halfway through the first month of 2025 and some areas are about to feel the Arctic chill move in. Across New York State, it is about to be bitterly cold!
How do you handle the cold? Do you put on an extra layer? Do you work from home instead of going to the office and braving the cold? Whatever it is that you do to stay warm, you will need it this week.
But it is times like this that we wonder what is the coldest temperature that we have seen in our town?

There are some who embrace the cold weather when it arrives. Here in the Western New York area, the snowmobile trails are opening and the ski hills are full of skiers!
But historically speaking, what was the coldest day we have seen in Buffalo, New York?
According to a post on X from a Buffalo Meteorologist, you need to go back to 1934 when the record low was -20!
The Buffalo Bills will play at home this weekend and it will be a cold night in Orchard Park. The high for the day is predicted to be 19 with lows in the single digits! Dress warm and be prepared for a cold stretch. The daily high temps will;l be in the single digits with below zero for some overnight.
