Looks Like the Buffalo Bills Are About to Make a Trade
Just like that, we're only two days away from a Buffalo Bills game.
The Bills will be on short rest this week as they prepare to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is 8:20 pm this Thursday night.
The Bills have lost two of the last three games, as the offense struggles to find any sport of rhythm. The problems have resulted in getting down early and even though Josh Allen and the offense starts to click late in the game, both times against Jacksonville and New England, it's been too little too late.
The defense is dealing with crushing injuries: Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones are out indefinitely, while Tre'Davious White is out for the rest of the season. Ed Oliver missed last Sunday's game, while other starters have missed at least one game (Dane Jackson, Christian Benford, Greg Rousseau, Jordan Poyer).
On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that tight end Dawson Knox will undergo wrist surgery and miss an undetermined amount of time.
The NFL trade deadline is one week from today. October 31st at 4 pm, no teams can make trades until the off-season.
The Bills might have indicated they are ready to make a move. Field Yates of ESPN reported that Dion Dawkins restructured his contract, freeing up nearly $4 million in cap space. This means the Bills have roughly $5.3 million in cap space now.
This is a year that general manager Brandon Beane needs to make a move. The Bills have needs at linebacker, cornerback and wide receiver. There are names available. They will have to be creative with a trade to fit someone under the cap, but Beane can't afford to not trade for a difference maker.
