The Buffalo Bills Finally Sign a Wide Receiver
NFL free agency is three days in and it's slowly but surely, slowing down.
The first 48 hours were fast and furious, but Wednesday saw a minor decline in signings. The Buffalo Bills did not participate in anything but a handful of re-signings on Monday and Tuesday, but they did make two actual free agent signings.
The first was on Tuesday afternoon, signing linebacker Nicholas Morrow.
Morrow played last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, starting 12 games. He's likely going to be the immediate backup to Terrel Bernard.\
On Wednesday morning, the Bills reportedly made another signing, this time on offense.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting the Bills are signing wide receiver Mack Hollins.
Hollins spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons, catching only 18 passes. He did, however, catch 57 passes in 2022 with the Las Vegas Raiders. Before that, he was with the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles.
The former 4th round pick in 2017 will likely be a depth piece. He won't be the second wide receiver, although we could see him in heavy wide receiver packages, as he does play the outside. This doesn't mean the Bills won't draft a wide receiver in the first round still.
The Bills' wide receiver depth chart now looks like this.
- Stefon Diggs
- Khalil Shakir
- Mack Hollins
- Justin Shorter
- KJ Hamler
- Andy Isabella
Hamler, Shorter and Isabella will likely be competing to make the roster in training camp. The Bills still need to add a wide receiver or two, including one high in the 2024 NFL Draft.
