Real Bison to be Released on Field at Buffalo Home Opener?

The Buffalo Bills home opener is coming up and there was a rumor swirling around on social media that there are going to be REAL bison that are released from the tunnel on the field as an 'open' for the first game in the new stadium.

The Buffalo Bills are going to host their first game ever at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on September 17, 2026. It will be week 2.

Are there really going to be real bison at the Buffalo Bills stadium?

The rumor is that there is going to be a really cool open when the Buffalo Bills take the field for the first time at the stadium and that there are going to be real bison that charge the field ahead of the team. At first I thought no way that this could be true because they would never ruin the field or put anybody in a dangerous situation, but the rumor seems to be gaining some traction. In Philadelphia, they use a real bald eagle inside, so just maybe, the bison are not out of the question.

The Buffalo Bills will play on Thanksgiving Day, but this time, they will be hosting the game at Highmark Stadium. Who will the NFL get to do the halftime show? All of the suggestions are Buffalo related in some way, shape or form, but that doesn't mean that it IS going to be any of those--from Kelsea Ballerini, the Killers or the Goo Goo Dolls.

EXTRA: The Buffalo Bills are getting ready for training camp in Rochester, New York again. The first couple of practices are not going to be opened up to the public, but there are 8 practices this year that you can go to (not including the red and blue scrimmage that is happening at the stadium).
