If you have always wanted to be a firefighter, here is your chance! Buffalo Fire Department has some openings and there is a deadline for those who want in.

According to Metro Source News:

The entry exam deadline is next Monday and so far 900 people have signed up. Mayor Byron Brown says that's less than half, compared to the last time they offered it in 2013. The city is looking for 200 new firefighters and recommends those wanting in to not wait until the last minute to sign up.

There is a $25 fee to take the exam and there are a few restrictions.

  • be 19 years old as of May 1;
  • be a U.S. citizen;
  • be a full-time Buffalo resident at least 90 days prior to April 9 and continue residency until appointment;
  • have a high school diploma or GED.
